The Battle
The Battle of al-Qādisiyyah, fought in 636, was a war between Arab Muslims and the Sassanid Persian army. Stakes were high as ever as a loss would be crippling to either side. The Persian empire rallied as many troops as possible in the hope of negating their challengers. It all ended with an Islamic victory. This was a key for Muslim’s because it led to the conquest of Persia and eventually even the conquering Iraq.
